ORVILLE J HANKE

Orville J. Hanke, 78 formerly of Manchester, Wis., died Saturday evening Nov. 4, 2000 at Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein where he had resided for the past three years.
He was born December 23, 1921 in Charlesburg, son of the late August and Rose Knier Hanke. He attended Kiel School.
Orville was a jeweler and watch repairman for many years both in Kiel and later moving to Milwaukee where he worked for Stone Jewelry until his retirement. After his retirement he moved to the Green Lake area. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II. Orville enjoyed fishing and bowling.
Survivors include one brother, Melvin (Agnes) Hanke of Kiel; four sisters, Bernice Neely of Clovis, New Mexico; Eileen Stemper of Shawano; LaVerne Nourigat of White Lake and Lucille Stumpges of Vista, Calif. He is further survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Gau.
Private graveside services will be held at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
