Thursday The Day Of Many Painful Injuries To Workmen
Accidents were numerous yesterday as well as varied, in their nature. One of
the most painful befell John Goetz, a workman on the new elevator of the William
Rahr Sons Co. He was holding a chisel while a fellow workman was pounding it
with a mallet. The latter slipped and the blow struck the fleshy part of the
thumb mangling it in a terrible manner. The man was assisted to a near by drug
store and the wound was dressed. He will not be able to use the hand for some
time.
