Henry arrived from Germany to Philadelphia, PA, with his parents and siblings in 1753. His family later settled into Northampton County, PA. Henry's name appeared on Tax Assessment List for Salisbury township (now Leigh County) and Bethlehem township in 1772.
Henry married Maria Kern, daughter of Frederick and Ann Kern, of Rockhill township, Bucks County, PA. Henry and Maria's children were: John, Peter, Catherine, Elizabeth, Mary and Susanna.
The family resided in Lower Mount Bethel township on a 100 acre lot, evidenced by tax lists in years: 1775, 1785, 1786 and 1788. He is also listed on Census: 1790 and 1800. Noted, Henry's lands were transformed wilderness that were cleared and productive lands were established in which he was a farmer. He was probably familiar with the trade of blacksmith based on his tools and a smith shop noted in his probate inventory, as well as bee keeping supplies. (pg 101 Jacoby Family Genealogy).
His will was dated August 18, 1808 with executors: widow wife Mary and son Peter. Peter was sworn as executor on Dec 12, 1809 with his mother renouncing executor ship a day prior. The will was probated Dec 6, 1809. Recorded in Will Book V.4, pg. 354. Inventory taken Jan 3, 1810. (Jacoby, pg. 110.
Henry served The War of the Revolution. His name under various spellings. May 14 1778, General Muster Roll of the 6th Battalion of Northampton County Militia under Capt. John Nelson, Spelling: Jacobie, Henry.
Additionally a return of the 5th Battalion of Northampton for year 1781.
Third Company under Capt. Hugh Gaston's Co foe year 1782, First class, Spelling: Jacobe, Henry
