Russell Dale Smith

Russell Dale Smith, 81, of Litchfield (formerly of Butler Township), passed away Saturday 6-01-2013 at home.
Born March 15, 1932 in Hillsdale County MI, he was the son of Owen and Lulu (Allen) Smith. Russell graduated from Litchfield High School, attended the University of Michigan and graduated from Eastern Michigan University. He served in the US Navy and was a systems analyst for AT&T in Southfield. Russell also loved raising and training Standard Bred horses which he raced at Northville Downs, Jackson, and Hazel Park.
On June 10, 1951 he married Dolores I. (Wade) and she preceded him in death in 2005.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Stacy Marino of Princeton FL; 3 sons, Jeff Smith of Walled Lake; Steve (Patti) Smith of Northville; Eric (Vania) Smith of Louisville KY; 1 sister, Betty Stanaway of Fargo ND; 1 brother, Allen Smith of Perry; and 5 grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, David Smith
