Funeral Services for Gerald F. 'Jerry' Myer, 73, of Alexandria, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 28th, 2013 at Trinity UMC on Bayou Rapides Road with Rev. Tony Ranero officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Pollock. Jerry went to his heavenly home on October 26, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was a wonderful husband and loving father and left his family with a wealth of beautiful memories.Jerry was born on August 13, 1940 in West Monroe and was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald F. 'Peewee' Myer and Lillian Lee Myer. He and Gale enjoyed traveling and being with their family. He spent most of his working life in the car business and later owned and operated his own business with his son-in-law, Fred Ruggles. After retirement he worked part time as a Rapides Parish Deputy. The family would like to thank the staff at MD Anderson, VA Medical Center and the staff at HCOA, especially, Len Blackwood, for their compassionate and loving care of Jerry during his illness.
