Death Claims Duane Marble

Duane Pierce Marble, 65 retired postal clerk, died at his home, 723 West Main Street, Monday at 2:30 p.m. from a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been ill for a few years.

Born December 24, 1877, Mr. Marble had been a resident of Ashland county for the past 50 years working in the Ashland post office for 30 years. He was the son of Ferdinand Emery Marble and Martha Jane Wages. On June 25, 1903, Mr. Marble was married to Magdalena Knapp.

He was a member of the Church of Christ, of the Men's Class of the Church and of the I. O. O. F.,
International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge.

Mr. Marble is survived by his wife; six children, Mrs. F.P. Gossett, Lawrence D. Marble, Mrs. William Stahl, Pvt. Emory W. Marble of E. R. C. - C. P. T., Ashland, Kenton M. Marble, Pharmacist 2-c, U. S. Naval Hospital, Bainbridge, Md., and Cpl. George D. Marble, Ft. Ethan Allen, Vt.; and seven grandchildren.

Short services will be held at his late residence Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the Church of Christ with Rev. Frank W. Brown, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Ashland cemetery.

The body will be taken from the Denbow-Bear funeral home to his late home this afternoon where friends may call.
