COBB, Karen Copley, 78, of Richmond, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, October 27, 2013, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of James Henry Copley and Bessie Jones Whittemore Copley of South Hill, Va.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Joseph B. Cobb; three children, Sharon Ahlin (Rick), Joseph B. Cobb Jr. (Betsy) and Leslie O'Hern (Tim); three grandchildren, Cliff Boyd, Cameron and Braxton O'Hern; a sister, Shirley Lyles (Charles) of Macon, N.C.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She will be missed by her beloved Dachshund, Rummy. Karen preferred to refer to herself as a domestic engineer and a child care provider. She loved gardening, and had an art with flower arranging. Karen enjoyed traveling and playing cards and board games with family. She was always positive and had a great sense of humor.

Karen was a member of Grove Avenue Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, with visitation prior, starting at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Words of Victory at Grove Avenue Baptist Church.
