Edward Paul Morrissette, 91, of Bemidji, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji.

Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Philip's Catholic Church in Bemidji. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Bemidji.

He was born Jan. 11, 1918, to Wilfred and Katie (Brooks) Morrissette in Plummer, Minn. On April 8, 1940, he married Alice Lajambe in Oklee, Minn. After their marriage they moved to Bemidji where they have lived since. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived in Bemidji and worked as a section foreman on the railroad. He was a member of the United State Railroad Retirement Board, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 351. American Legion Ralph Gracie Post 14 and Bemidji VFW Harold Baggenstos Post 1260.

He is survived by his wife of Bemidji; daughter, Diane (Jerry) Geise of New Boston, Mich.; sisters, Beulah Peterson of Bemidji, Louella Yelle of Escondido, Calif., and Marie (Dale) Stebe of Bemidji. three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Raymond; brothers, Eugene and Maurice; sisters, Dorothy Bolin, Doris Asselin and Isabelle Gribbon.
