Pioneer Resident Passes Away

After forty years residence in Southern Marin, Joseph A. Mancebo quietly passed away at his late home here on Wednesday at the age of 71 years. The deceased has been in poor health for the past few years and his death was hastened by the shock caused by the death of his son, John A. Mancebo a few months ago.

A large number attended the funeral held this morning, many going to the grave in Fernwood cemetery. Funeral serves were conducted in Star of the Sea church where requiem high mass was said for the repose of his soul.

He was a native of Azores Islands and for the past forty years was a resident of this county, residing most of the time in Sausalito. He made a large number of very warm friends by his hospitality.

He was a member of Sausalito Council No. 65, I.E.E.S. and the I.D.E.S.S.T. (Holy Ghost Society.)

He was the beloved father of Manuel S., Joseph and Manuel Mancebo, Jr., and of the late John A. Mancebo and Mrs. T.G. Ennis.
