Grampa Charles was a farmer. He was the husband of Ida Amelia Williams Quinn. They were married on 24 April 1900 in Wayne, Pennsylvania, USA. They were the parents of two children, Iva Beatrice Quinn (Hood) Hayner and Carrie Edith Quinn Jakobsen (of New Jersey).

Family history states that he also had an illegitimate son that was located once but cannot be found. This would have been a huge embarrassment to the family, especially his wife, which might explain why they are not buried together.
