Tania Marie Sorrells-Cord, age 42, an Atoka, OK resident, was born on Monday, June 21, 1971, to Jack and Wilma Jean (Rains) Sorrells, at Oklahoma City, OK. Tania passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Atoka, OK from injuries received in an auto accident.
She graduated from Atoka High School in 1990, then from Tulsa Community College. Tania was a manager at Sam's Club for 17 years and was working as an office manager at the time of her passing. She married Ty Cord on October 26, 2003, at the Breezes Resort in Jamaica. Tania was a member of Bentley Baptist Church. She loved Pinterest, cooking, yard work, doing for others, spending time with family and friends and spoiling her nieces and nephews.
Tania was survived by her husband, Ty Cord of the home in Bentley, OK.; parents, Jack and Wilma Jean (Rains) Sorrells of Bentley, OK.; siblings, Jacquie Tipton and husband Danny of Montrose, MI., Brent Sorrells and wife Tara of Amboy, IL., Tammy Gregory and husband Alan of Phoenix, AZ., Dawn Waling and husband Todd of Avondale, AZ., Bob Cord and wife Dee of Peoria, AZ., Denise Oztekin and husband Kevin of Peoria, AZ., Dennis Karrick of Phoenix, AZ.; nephews and nieces, Jackson and Broc Sorrells of Amboy, IL., Danielle and Dominique Tipton of Montrose, MI.; father-in-law, Robert Cord and wife June of Gilbert, AZ.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dearly loved friends.
Tania was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob and Ruby Rains and Lonnie Ray and Mary Sorrells; mother-in-law, Willa Mae Cord.
Tania's services were under the direction of Brown's Funeral Services, Atoka, Oklahoma. Family night was held on Saturday night, November 2nd, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Her services were held at Bentley Baptist Church, Bentley, Oklahoma at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 3rd, 2013 with Bro. Jeff Culbreath & Bro. John Howard officiating. She was interred in the Bentley Cemetery following the services. Her casketbearers were Jimmy Adams, Alan Coyle, Jeff Jones, Terry Clement, Troy Gammon Jr. , and Kenny Eaves. Her honorary casketbearers were Russ Chavers, Jon Russell, Rance Reed, Tracy Coyle, Tryler Finch, Kenny Daniel, Kenny Edwards, Eric Hunt, and Clay McCall.
In Lieu of flowers the family requested donations to be made to the Bentley Cemetery of the Bentley Baptist Church.
