Richard C. Laurin, age 79, of 1021 South 16th Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.

Dick was born in Two Rivers on May 1, 1932, son of the late Jeffrey and Josephine (Korinek) Laurin. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married the former Artis Braun on July 10, 1954, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2011. Dick worked at Mirro Aluminum as a supervisor. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and watching the grandchildren.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Michael (Joleen "Jodi") Laurin, New Port Richey, FL; one daughter and son-in-law: Nancy (John A.) Ording, Newton; three grandchildren: Candice (Tim) Stadick; Brandon (Shanna) Laurin; Benjamin (Jennifer) Ording; two great-grandchildren: Aden Ording and Ava Ording: brothers and sisters: Douglas (Delores) Laurin; Robert (Lillian) Laurin; John (Dede) Laurin; Leon (Maria) Laurin; Gary (Lucy) Laurin; Rosemany (John) Frey; Agnes Anticzek; special great-niece: Isabella Denk. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife: Artis Laurin; four brothers: Kenneth, Donald, Russell and Edward; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Pat Antczek; Robert (Patricia) Braun; Lois Laurin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February, 2012, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1033 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Benjamin Schaefer will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Reinbold and Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the Laurin family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
