Dorothy E. "Dot" Haverstick, 90, of Quarryville, entered into rest on Friday, November 1, 2013 following a brief illness. Born in Refton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Sara (Heidelbaugh) Bowman. She was married to the late Walter C. Haverstick, Jr. who died in 2008.

After graduating from Quarryville High School, Dot went on to work at the former Hamilton Watch Co. She later helped her husband on the family farm. Dot was a life-member of New Providence Church of God. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, craft shows, and attending her grand and great-grandchildren's activities.

Dot is survived by a son, Michael E. Haverstick of New Holland; a daughter Patricia S. O'Connell of Lancaster; a son, Jeffrey W., husband of Chris E. Haverstick of Willow Street; eight grandchildren: Erin Battaglia, Heather Hess, Shawn, Kyle, and Ryan O'Connell, Jeff Haverstick, Jenny Nace, and Joy Reck. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Glenn and Ronald Bowman. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Bowman.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will take place at the New Providence Church of God, 269 Cinder Rd., New Providence, PA 17560 on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Dwight Lefever officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 6-7:30 p.m. Traditional interment will be private in the New Providence Church of God Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
