C A. Douglas Dies Aged 71
A retired member of the staff of the Auditor-General's Office, Charles A. Douglas, of 40 Acacia Avenue, died yesterday morning after a lengthy Illness. He was 71. An employee with the Auditor-General's Office for many years, he was an audit supervisor at the time of his retirement five years ago. A prominent member of St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church Mr. Douglas was a past warden of the church. He was also active in affairs, of the Rockcllffe Public School and was .a former trustee of the school.

Born in Listowel, Ont., he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs, Arthur Douglas. He graduated from Toronto University In 1903 and lived In Ottawa since then. He was a member of the Canadian Club.

Surviving are his widow, the former Christine Isabel White; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Mackie of Agincourt, Mrs. Arthur B. Forward of Ottawa; a son, Hugh Charles of Toronto; two brothers, Robert of Sidney, B.C., and Arthur of Embro; two sisters, the Misses Maria of Vancouver and Margaret of Detroit; also five grandchildren.
The body Is resting at Hulse and Playfair Limited, 315 McLeod Street, from where the funeral will be held to St. Bartholomew's Church on Friday afternoon for service at 4 o'clock. Rev. A. T. Carson will officiate. Burial will be In Beechwood Cemetery.
