Gemma M. (Durocher) Chase, age 68, a resident of the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, following a brief illness.
She was born on January 10, 1945 in Two Rivers to the late Fred and Isabel (Brault) Durocher. She grew up in Two Rivers and was a graduate of Washington High School. Gemma enjoyed playing cards, listening to country/western music, coloring fuzzy posters, and especially enjoyed the time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons & daughters-in-law, Tim (Kristi) Chase of Francis Creek, Todd (June) Chase of Manitowoc; one daughter, Theresa Chase of Stevens Point; and seven grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers & a sister-in-law, Alan (Carol) Durocher, Two Rivers, Pat Durocher, Madison; two sisters & a brother-in-law, Renee Stephaniak, Milwaukee, Rachael (Dave) Bartz, Sturgeon Bay; and a very special guardian, Cindy L. Frank and her family; other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Durocher.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 - 18th St. Two Rivers. Deacon Paul Gleichner will officiate at the service, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Friends may call at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels on Saturday, after 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m.
The Chase family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center for the loving care & compassion given to Gemma over the years.
