He was born Sept. 4, 1939, south of Delta, the son, of Walter and Bernice Elder Appleget. He graduated from Sigourney high school in 1957 and was a member of the Sigourney Christian church. Mr. Appleget had been a self employed truck driver several years before being employed as a truck driver for Boise Cascade. After driving for Boise Cascade several years he was employed at Sigourney Lumber for five years. He had returned to driving for Boise Cascade just three weeks before the fatal accident.
Mr. Appleget and Sharon Elliott were married Aug. 4. 1968 at Sigourney and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Rodney and Lonnie and a daughter, Angela, all at home; a stepson, Todd Elliott; his mother, Bernice; his grandmother, Lizzie Elder; four sisters, Mrs Walter (Doris) Waechter, Mrs. Jack (Jean) Mateer, Mrs. Pat Sievert, and. Mrs. Larry (Linda) Brady; two brothers, Allen and Lynn Appleget.
He was preceded in death by his father June 10, 1975, and a brother, Donald.
Funeral services were June 16 at the Sigourney Christian church with the Rev. Richard Pomeroy officiating. Burial was at Pennington cemetery.
