NEOMI A. COLLINS
Neoma A. Collins was born at the home of her parents Martin B. and Elizabeth M. Sheeks in Union township, Republic county, Kansas on Dec. 25, 1871 and passed away at her house at 2330 South N. street, which was the old home of her parents, On Oct. 29, 1946, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 4 days.
Although she had been in poor heath for some time, her passing came as a shock since here health the last few days seem to be improving rapidly.
She spent her school and girlhood days on the farm and her entire life was spent in Republic county.
She was united in marriage to Frank Collins in 1922. He passed away in 1931. Also preceeding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Mrs. Nevada J. Stafford and Linnie A. Gott.
To mourn her passing is one daughter, Mrs. Olive Russell of Manson, WA; also two sisters; Mrs. Inez Chambers of Tacoma, WA and Mrs. Grace E. Connell of Paonia, Colorado; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren, six nieces and four nephews and many other relatives.
She was a member of the Methodist church, the Rebekah lodge and the Womans Relief corps. She was ready to give a helping hand to all who needed it and to any good cause. She lived a faithful Christian life and was prepared and ready to go to the Heavenly Home.
Funeral services were held Friday at the First Methodist church and burial was in Belleville cemetery.
