Mildred (Milly) Louise Slahck, 87, of Raytown, MO, passed away February 22, 2011 at her home. A celebration of her life service will be at 4 pm, Saturday, February 26, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 8301 James A Reed Road, Raytown, MO. Milly requested her body be donated to medical research at KU Medical Center. Milly was born July 8, 1923 in Centralia, KS. Milly moved to Kansas City in November 1943 and began work at Sears and Roebuck filling orders on roller skates. Milly then worked at Benson Aircraft as a riveter and welder of B-25 bombers during WW II. She married Richard Charles Slahck December 26, 1944, her husband of 58 years who preceded her in death in 2001. Milly held jobs doing: portrait painting at home; working for Pouland Labs and Eureka Petroleum as a secretary, Gordon Henke as a bookkeeper and later for Beeson and Johnson as a secretary where she retired in 1988. Milly is survived by her son Stephen and wife Jo Ellen, her son Robyn and wife Debby, her sister Lois Ayers Bachman, grandchildren Amber Gindhardt, Andy Slahck, Cheryl and husband Ryan Fisher, Josh and Melody Agard, Shelley Slahck and TJ Swafford, Jayme and Jauni Novak, and Christina Slahck. Milly has three great grandchildren, Chase and Dylan Agard and Gavin Fisher. Milly loved everyone and everyone loved Milly. Her chocolate brownies were famous. Her family, faith and her Church were paramount in her life. Her wish to go to Dad is now complete. The family, in lieu of flowers, asks donations be made to Faith Presbyterian Church or Village Hospice.
