Mrs. Annie Lehto, a resident of Douglas county for 45 years, passed away at her home in Urness township Friday, August 19 after an illness of six months.

She was born in Peipola, Oululand, Finland, August 24, 1874 and came to America and Douglas county in 1893 and has lived here ever since. She was united in marriage to John Lehto at Holmes City Dec. 1, 1895, who preceded her in death. Surviving are the following children: Olga (Mrs. Ray Jokola) of Menahga; Fannie (Mrs. Anslee Conway) of South America; Pauline of Minneapolis; Elida (Mrs. Walter Eliason) of Duluth; Nami at home, William and George of Brandon; Edna (Mrs. Charles Irving) of Jersey City, N.J.; Martha (Mrs. Charles Krenkel) of West Newark, N.J.; Irving; Melba; Julia, all of Brandon. Nine grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters: John, Jacob and Woina Hermanson of Brandon, Selma (Mrs. Isaac Lehto) of Brandon, Ellen (Mrs. Matt Malahti) of Brandon, Katie (Mrs. John Lee) of Brainerd, also her aged mother, Mrs. Katie Makkonen of Brandon, survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 24 at 1:00 from the residence and at 2:00 o'clock from the Apostle Lutheran church, Rev. John Koskela of Kettle River officiating. The pallbearers were Joe Josephs, Alfred Aho, Arvid Mattala, William Sarvie, Victor Olson and Isaac Lehto. Interment took place in the church cemetery.
