FINAL RITES FOR MRS. NORMAN, 90
Final rites were conducted from the Forster Funeral home in Woodburn, Wednesday for Mrs. Kittie Norman, 90, who died at the home of her son near there Saturday. The Rev. Warren Hile officiated. Burial was in the Ottawa cemetery. The obituary follows:
Kittie Estelle Alford, daughter of Hiram and Miranda Alford, was born in Canton, New York, May 7, 1862, and died at the home of her son, Ralph, May 10.
In 1881 she was married to Frank Chapman. To this union two sons were born: Harry, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Arthur, now deceased. Her husband died in 1887.
In 1892 she was married to Henry Norman. The couple became the parents of five children: George, of Santa Paula, Calif.; Clifford, of Corydon; Ralph, of Woodburn; Lela and Floyd, now deceased.
Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1951. She remained in her own home, her granddaughter, Marion, caring for her, until April 15 when she became ill and went to live with her son Ralph and family.
Early in life she joined the Bethel church at Lynville and later transferred her membership to the Christian church at Woodburn in 1922.
In addition to the survivors above mentioned, survivors include 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two nieces, and two nephews. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
