BERNICE VIOLA AYRES

Bernice Viola Ayres, daughter of Albert Charles and Alma Holeman Balderston, was born January 24, 1912 near Hastings, Nebraska and departed this life February 26, 1989 at the Cambridge Hospital at the age of 77 years and 33 days, after a long illness.

On October 3, 1947 she was united in marriage to Warren L. Ayres of Agate, Colorado at Norton, Kansas. They made their home on a farm 8 miles southwest of Hendley, Nebraska until they moved to Arapahoe in 1975. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe. She belonged to the Good Hope Club of Wilsonville and enjoyed bowling, gardening and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Veda and Thelma; and one brother, Lester.

She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband, Warren; two brothers, Jasper and Elvin of Wilsonville; two sisters, Neva DeBacca of Denver, Colorado and Fleeta Michals of Gooding, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held March 2, 1989 at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church of Arapahoe, with Rev. Steve Todd officiating. Burial was in the Arapahoe Cemetery.
