Sudden Death of C. E. Daniels This Morning
Attorney Charles E. Daniels, one of the best known of the younger members of the Lackawanna bar, died this morning at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Simpson, of East Market street. He is survived by his wife, one son, Charles E. Jr.
Before being admitted to the bar Mr. Daniels was for some years engaged in newspaper work.
Mr. Daniels had not been in good health for some time and caught a heavy cold last week which developed into acute pneumonia. Dr. Theodore Surreth was called on Sunday morning and gave the case most of his time since, although it was realized from the first that the chances were against Mr. Daniels because of his weakened condition generally and having heart trouble besides.
Nurses and doctor had been in constant attendance since he took to his bed. This morning his condition took a change for the worse and after ten o'clock it was seen that death was only a question of a short time and death ensured at 11.35 o'clock. The last twohours he was delirious most of the time and died in that state.
