Daniel Clark
1820 – unknown

Daniel Clark died as an infant in 1821 at his parent's farm in far northern Delaware County, over an hour away from the village of Delaware, Ohio. Delaware, Ohio, at that time, was a village with few improvements, let alone a true "burial ground".

The wagon travel time from the farm to the village was about an hour, assuming in January that the wagon carrying his body back to the village could travel at 5-6 mph through the snow and cold.

He was more than likely buried at the family farm or a nearby graveyard.

Oak Grove Cemetery was organized and laid out in the mid-1850s. By that time, the Clarks had sold the Delaware County farm and relocated to a farm about three miles from Marion, Ohio, in Marion County, north of Delaware, Ohio. The nearest graveyard to them was at Likens Cemetery.

In the 1860s, the Clarks bought a lot at the newly opened Marion Cemetery. Harvey Clark's father was buried at Smith Cemetery in southern Marion County, and his in-laws would be buried at Likens.
