Pfc. U.S. Army, {RA52988166}, Vietnam War-Pfc. Witkowski was killed in action by an explosive device on 9-18-1968 while serving as a Light Weapons Infantryman with Co. C of the 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. Pfc. Witkowski started his tour of Vietnam on 8-31-1968. He lasted just 18 days.

He is the son of Mrs. Eva Witkowski of 328 West Atlantic Street, Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, and he enlisted with the Army on February 23, 1968 at Wilkes Barre, Pa.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
