Stella M. Wenham
92, of Kent. Died October 5, a resident of the Covington area for 67 years. She was born January 3, 1896, near Fairland, Oklahoma Territory. Her husband, Louis E. Wenham, died in 1949 after their marriage of 32 years. Stella then taught herself typesetting, specializing in wedding stationery and operating the Wenham Press Company from 1949-1983. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Over the years, she and Louis had 16 foster children, raising four of them to adulthood, as well as their own four children. She helped with the Sunday School in the old Covington School and also attended the old Covington Community Church. She is a lifetime member of Meridian P.T.A., member Nacomis Grandmother's Club, Harmony Club and the Doctor Hoffman Orthopedic Guild. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Wenham, of Kent, Lauren Wenham [1929-2012], of Omak; two daughters, Marilyn Kildahl, of Eatonville, Lavelle Allmond of Kent and four foster daughters, Gloria Brown, of Coyle, Washington, Shirley Allvertl, of Edmonds, Eva Bixler, of Renton and Caro Zamatica, of Burien; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services Saturday, October 8, 11AM. Moriatt Mortuary, Kent, 713 North Central. Visitation, Friday, noon-8PM. Interment, Hillcrest Burial Park, of Kent. Remembrances may be made to Children's Orthopedic Hospital.
