John Leo Sampson, 73, of Cleveland, MO died Monday, November 4, 2013, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO, after a kidney transplant.

He was born July 16, 1940, the son of August J. and Margaret L. (Henry) Sampson. He married Beverly Raley in 1958. Three children were born, Kathy, Gary and James. In 1968 he married Carol Lewis and they had twin girls, Tonya and Tabitha.

John was the owner of Sampson Feed Store. He loved his family and his farming experiences. He was a lifelong resident of the Cleveland area.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Jimmy Sampson and one sister, Mary Jean Carter.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, of the home; one son, Gary Sampson, West Plains, MO; three daughters, Kathy Goss, West Plains, MO; Tonya Lichte, Pleasant Hill, MO and Tabitha Ames, Drexel, MO; one brother, Harold Sampson, Cleveland, MO; two sisters, Virginia Wallis, Kansas City, MO; and Dorothy Windisch, Louisburg, KS; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
