Allen Earl Anderson, age 69, died Tuesday, June 3, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mr. Anderson was a 30 year veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 360 in Montverde, Fla., a member of Francis Marion VFW Post 4667, a member of the American Legion, and the Fleet Reserve Association. He retired from Disney World in Florida having worked there for 10 years. He was of the Lutheran faith. He is survived by one sister-in-law, Georgia McLaughlin of Marion; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services were conducted Friday, June 6, at 2 p.m. in Rose Lawn Cemetery with Pastor James Bangle officiating. Full military honors were rendered by the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667. Barnett's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
