BRIGHAM CITY - Stanley J. Anderson, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Country Lane Assisted Living Center in Brigham City, Utah.

He was born on October 6, 1922 in Oasis, Utah, a son of Peter M. and Abigail Christianson Anderson.

Dad served in the US Navy during World War II, where he was a Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class. Upon returning from the Navy he met and married Marion Madge Campbell. They were married on August 28, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on May 8, 1964. Marion preceded Stan in death on October 15, 2004.

Dad and Mom moved to Brigham City in 1958, where Dad took a job with Thiokol. He worked at Thiokol until his retirement.

They built a home in Honeyville where he did his farming. They loved Honeyville and lived there until Mom's death in 2004. Prior to Mom's death, they loved to go camping, fishing and RV-ing.

Surviving are his four children, Ellen (Pat) Travis, Cascade, MT; Richard (Marie) Anderson, Pleasant Grove, UT; Jim Anderson, Shelby, MT; Carolyn (Cortney) Henrie, Brigham City, UT; 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; one brother, Elvin Anderson, St. George, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marion, one son. Lynn Anderson and two great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Country Lanes for their loving care of our dad.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah.

The family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Box Elder Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
