RED BAY, AL. – William Winsol Mitchell, 89, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born August 2, 1924 in Red Bay, Al. and he was retired from Red Bay Water & Gas after 15 years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 25, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Al. with Bro. J.C. Blackburn and Bro. Jerry Humphries officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Vina, Al. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are two daughters – Betty Jean Miller (Al), Lewisburg, Tn. and Peggy Jane Maxwell (Danny), Red Bay, Al.; one sister – Maedeen Thompson; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Pearl Mitchell, a son, William Dexter Mitchell, his parents, Marion Mitchell and Maudie Holland Mitchell, a grandson, Michael Dexter Mitchell, a great-grandson, Elijah Sanders and a great-granddaughter, Tiffany Osborn.
Pallbearers will be Nelson Mitchell, Josh Mitchell, Michael Miller, Tyler Umfress, Brad Umfress, Jamie Davis, Dale Massey and Michael Massey.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, January 24, at Deaton Funeral Home and until service time on Saturday.
