FREDERICK MUENSTER

Frederick (Fritz) Muenster, 77, of 818 First Street, Kiel, died Sunday morning, April 9.
He was born June 10, 1911, in the town of New Holstein, son of Rudolph and Caroline Dumke Muenster. He attended New Holstein Elementary and graduated from New Holstein High School. He served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Asiatic Theatre.
On September 17, 1938, he married Inez Hertel at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church in Kiel. He was employed at Leverenz Shoe Company at New Holstein for 41 years, retiring in 1973. He belonged to Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel, a charter member of Badger Tri-County VFW Post 6707, and a past commander. He was also a bass drummer for the Kiel City Band.
Survivors include his wife, Inez; two brother, Donald (Mary); Howard (Marie) both of New Holstein; two sisters, Trudy (Milton) Brocker, New Holstein; and Mary Lou (James) Vollstedt, Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by one sister.
A concelebrated Mass was held at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church, Kiel with the Rev. Thomas Leannah, pastor; Rev. Reginald Schrimpf and Deacon James Steffen, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
