Murel Dwain Kaiser, 90, formerly of Oconee, Ill., died at 2:55 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at Blu-Fountain Manor in Godfrey. He was born July 14, 1915, in Oconee to John and Josephine Lovegrove Kaiser. He married the former Margaret Mahala Mills on Jan. 18, 1944, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. He and his wife made their home on a farm in rural Oconee for more than 40 years where they raised their family. He was employed and retired from the Illinois State Highway Department. He also worked at Huber Memorial Hospital in the maintenance department, Pana greenhouse and farmed. In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Hickey of Dover, Tenn., Patricia Ackman of Godfrey and Kathy and Jim Buzzard of Beecher City, Ill.; one son and daugther-in-law, William "Bill" and Gail Kaiser of Pana; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Litz of Pana. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers, Paul Kaiser, James Kaiser, Melvin Kaiser, Earl Kaiser, John Milton Kaiser, Harvey Kaiser, Cloyd Kaiser and Delbert Kaiser; and two sisters, Veda Hinton and Hazel Rhodes. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until a service at 11 a.m. Monday at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana. The Rev. Neil Kaiser will officiate. Burial will be at Oconee Mound Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Blu-Fountain Manor, 1623 W. Delmar, Godfrey, IL 62035. Light a candle and send condolences to the family at www.mdfh.com.
