Born 1790 in Kentucky, son of John and Catherine (Miles) Lancaster, grandson of John Lancaster and Fannie Jearnigan Lancaster of London, England. He married Annie Blair in 1815 in Lebanon, KY. daughter of Rev. Blair, a Presbyterian Minister. He died in Tampa, Florida. He was a Mason, member of the Methodist Church, Attorney, Member of Legislative Council of Territory of Florida, 1825. Judge, Alachua County, 1st Mayor of Tampa Feb. 16, 1856. Father of William Blair Lancaster, John R. Lancaster, Laura Louise (Lancaster) Vincent and Eliza Caroline Lancaster.
