Ina Bugge, age 97, of Ida Grove, Iowa, passed away on November 8, 2013 at the Morningside Rehab & Care Center in Ida Grove, Iowa.

Funeral services held at Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ida Grove, Iowa with the Reverend Adam J. Peck officiating. Burial will follow in the Ida Grove Cemetery of Ida Grove, Iowa.

na Maxine Bugge was born October 7, 1916 to Jennie (Green) and Edward Brandenburg in Kesley, IA and baptized April 8, 1917 at the United Brethren Church in Kesley. When she was two years old the family moved to Bristow, Iowa where she graduated from high school in 1933. Ina attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and the University of Iowa in Iowa City. She taught elementary school in Mount Union, in Ida Grove and in Boone, Iowa. In 1944, Ina was confirmed as a member of Trinity Lutheran Church (LCMS), Boone, Iowa.

After attending training in Kansas City, Kansas she was a reservationist for Eastern Airlines in Atlanta, Georgia. When Glen Janssen returned from Germany after World War II, they arranged to meet in Chicago and were married Nov. 24, 1945, in the First St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Louis Grocker.

Ina was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, Catechism and Bible Study classes for many years and was an active member of her church circle. She had been a substitute school teacher and a Cub Scout den leader. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary of which she was a past president. Ina helped Glen operate the Skelly gasoline station including doing the bookkeeping, until he retired in 1976.

Glen Janssen died August 29, 1978. Ina and Everett Bugge were married April 9, 1983. Everett died May 23, 1988.

Survivors include her three sons and their wives: Ed and Pam Janssen of Bloomington, Illinois, Frank and Kathleen Janssen of Woodbury, Minnesota and David and Linda Janssen of El Paso, Texas. Ina is also survived by seven grandchildren and their spouses -- Matt and Mindy Janssen of Laure, Tennessee, Lee and Glenn Angel of Chicago, Illinois, Jennifer and Mike Spreigl of Bloomington, Minnesota, Glennae and Adam Meyer of Bayport, Minnesota, Francina and Eddie Lelei of Plymouth, Minnesota, John and Firuza Janssen of Williamsburg, Virginia and Olivia and Dallas Dodson of Garland, Texas. Survivors also include twelve great-grandchildren Ð Camryn Angel, Xander and Illyia Spreigl, Maxwell and Arien Meyer, Jaelyn Lelei, Yasmine, Maya and Layton Janssen and Ari, Riley and River Dodson. Other survivors include a sister-in-law Laurie Clem and nephew, Jim Brandenburg, of St. Louis, Missouri.

Ina was preceded in death by her parents (Ed & Jennie Brandenburg), two brothers (Calvin and Ernest Brandenburg), her husbands (Glen Janssen and Everett Bugge), two nieces (Barbara and Eunice Brandenburg) and a great grandson (Aiden Spreigl).
