Funeral services for Michael Blessing held from the Johnston-Morgan Funeral home were conducted by Rev. Keith Taber on Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the Lisbon cemetery. Pall bearers were Walter Ellison, Wm. Reimer, Lloyd Graver, Earl Leigh, Herman Stritt and Lewis Graver.
At the close of the service Mrs. Ellsworth Burge and Miss Hazel Runkle sang with Miss Daisy Burd as accompanist.
Michael F. Blessing, son of Michael and Elizabeth Moore Blessing was born May 9, 1862 at Muscatine. He passed away at his home south of Lisbon early Monday morning after an illness of two months. When a small child he came with his parents to White Oak vicinity. On Nov. 15, 1899 he was married to Nannie Moffitt and to this union was born one son, Carl. Mr. Blessing was engaged in farming and for many years lived on the Blessing place south of town. His survivors are the wife, son and daughter-in-law, one sister Mrs. Frances Daubenmeir of Lisbon and one half-sister Mrs. Ellen Fitz of Fort Dodge, also several nieces and nephews.
