Born October 17, 1940, in Vasey, Ontario, he was a son of the late Lorne and Eva (MacWatters) Tinney.
After moving here from Ontario in 1997, Bev worked for Layton's Taxi right up until the time of his death.
A very spiritual man, he attended and worshipped at many churches and donated to many charities, especially those involving underprivileged children overseas. An avid baseball and hockey fan, he spent countless hours watching and cheering on his favourite teams, Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. His easy-going, gentle demeanor and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him.
Bev is survived by his children, Mary-lin Tinney (Eric Roy), Liverpool; Heather (Greg) MacDonald, Truro; David Tinney, Renfrew, Ontario; grandchildren, Kevin Barclay, Janie-Marie MacDonald; Alanna MacDonald, Cassidy Tinney; sisters, Shirley Hallyburton, Hillsdale, Ontario; Connie Tinney, Orillia, Ontario; brothers, Ray Tinney, Tottenham, Ontario; Bruce (Pat) Tinney, Midland, Ontario; Mary-lin and Heather's mother, Viola Margaret Lynds, Truro; several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Vera Thompson; David's mother, Donna Patricia Rumney.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2013, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow. Family flowers only.
