He was a veteran of the US Navy where he received the WWII Victory Medal for his service.
Raymond retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 30 years of employment and continued to meet monthly with his former co-workers for breakfast.
He was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church and was also an active member of the Riverside Senior Club and St. Helen's Leisure Club.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; 6 siblings; his son, Jeffrey Dixon of Florida; and second wife, Lilly (Miller) Dixon.
He is survived by his 3rd wife of 19 years, Estelle (R.) C. (Beato) Dixon; daughter, Ellen Marie Simpson of Dayton, Ohio; son, Clifford Paul and daughter-in-law, Linda Dixon of Dayton, Ohio; son, Michael F. Dixon of Florida; and daughter, Robin and son-in-law, Michael Smith also of Dayton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; his brother, "J.C." Dixon of Pennsylvania and sister, Bernice Kibbe of Pennsylvania; and, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Raymond was very inquisitive, a fair-minded, gentle, and kind man. He knew no strangers... he enjoyed conversing with anyone who shared his exuberance for making new acquaintances and spreading a little sunshine.
Raymond Dixon was a simple man with an abundance of love. We will miss him terribly.
