Research Note: Catherine's middle initial has been found as B., on the 1900 and 1940 census. In 1940 she was widowed and listed as the respondent. The 1950 census shows middle initial as C. This is probably for her maiden name of Cross. Her crypt cover shows initial W., and her death certificate shows her middle name as Walker. Her first marriage was to Claude C. Walker. The initial W., was probably for her first husband's last name.

Research Note: Based on the census records from 1880-1900, and the Homestead obtained by Catherine's father in York County, Nebraska, it is highly probable that Catherine was born in York County, Nebraska. Her birth location on the Death Certificate showed Nebraska. No Birth certificate, or Delayed Birth registration was found. I didn't locate an obituary. Therefore, I'm leaving her birth location as Nebraska until such time as a record is found stating she was born in York County. Her son, Don, was the informant on the death certificate information.
