Edward H. Marcotte, 90, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at his residence after a long illness.

Born in Manchester on Dec. 19, 1919, he was the son of George and Priscilla (Beliveau) Marcotte. He was a graduate of Manchester West High School and the University of New Hampshire.

Edward served as a Naval Officer during World War II. He then went to work at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the design division until his retirement in 1972.

He was a resident of Rye for over 50 years, moving to Londonderry in 2003. He also enjoyed summers on Lake Winnipesaukee at his cottage in Melvin Village.

Survivors include his daughter Liana, and son Roy, both of Londonderry.

He was predeceased by his wife Amy, in 1990, his son Andre, in 1967, and daughter-in-law Donna in 2005.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Farrell Funeral Home 684 State St., Portsmouth. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth.
