Sandy was born on November 27, 1943, daughter of the late Marshall Glenn and Agatha Jaunita "Toots" (Taylor) Clingerman.
Sandy was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend. She was Valedictorian of the 1961 graduating class of Valley High School in Masontown. She was a longstanding and devoted member of the Reedsville United Methodist Church. Sandy was proud to have worked for the WVU School of Dentistry for 35 years, where she served as Office Manager for Dean Biddington, Associate Dean Overberger and several others. Sandy's passions included crafting, collecting Coke memorabilia, and bears. She especially enjoyed the Christmas season and loved decorating her home for all to enjoy. Sandy and her husband Charlie also enjoyed travel, and made many trips to Dollywood and the southern states. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Charles Robert "Charlie" Piper; 3 nephews, Don G. Clingerman, Jr.; Michael L. Clingerman and wife Robin, and children Sidney and Logan and Mark A. Clingerman and wife, Sarah of Reedsville; sister-in-law, Helen Clingerman; two aunts, Thelma Clingerman and Mildred Kelly and special friends Cindy, Carla, Teresa, Phyllis and Sue Ellen who helped take care of Sandy during her illness. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don G. Clingerman Sr. and several aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received at the Morgan Funeral Home, Reedsville, on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 3-5 pm and 6-8 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Reedsville United Methodist Church from 11 am until the time of services at 12 noon with the Reverend Dr. Gary E. Helms and Reverend Brian Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Morgan Memorial Park, Reedsville. The family also wishes to thank the caring professionals of Amedisys Hospice Care, Heartland of Preston County, Preston Home Health, Preston Memorial and Ruby Memorial hospitals.
