Retired cook Terie Nelson, 94, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Nelson was born August 1, 1905, in Johnson County, to the late Harrison and Lottie Clay Blair. She was retired from Mayo State Vocational School and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Nelson, on March 30, 1932. Surviving are one daughter, Betsy Jo VanHoose of Paintsville; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 14, at Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Larry Smith and Trevor Belcher officiating. Burial was in Mayo Cemetery, Paintsville.
