Born in Roseau, MN on Feb. 21, 1947, he is survived by his loving wife, Maribeth Bergan, daughter Sarah Dore and husband Rob Dore of Denver, Katie Toale and husband Ben Toale and grandson Zachary Toale of Loveland and Kelsey Bergan from Denver, sister Sue Bristow and husband Ed Bristow, and mother Wilma Bergan of Loveland. He is preceded in death by his father, Dale Bergan.
Steve grew up on a farm in Williams, MN. His family would travel to Florida for the winters. It was fun for them to experience Detroit Tigers Spring Training. Steve's dad Dale worked for the Detroit Tigers. Steve graduated from Spearfish High in 1965 and South Dakota State Pharmacy School in 1970. Steve moved to Loveland in 1974. He worked as a pharmacist for Sullivan Drug in Longmont. He met his wife Maribeth Bergan in 1975 and they were married August 15, 1976 at Camp Saint Malo in Allens Park. They resided in Longmont until 1979, and then moved to Loveland CO where Steve was co-owner of Draper Drug downtown Loveland. He sold the drug store in 1983 and worked for Walgreens until 2012 when he was diagnosed with cancer. Steve worked for Walgreens for 30 years.
He was a dedicated family man who adored his 3 daughters. Steve took many RV trips with his family when the children were young. When the girls were older he and Maribeth enjoyed going to the mountains, trips to Maui and 3 European trips. Steve also enjoyed Golf and loved spending time with his family and especially time with his 3 year old grandson, Zachary. Steve and his family took one last trip to the beach in California and Disneyland which we will cherish forever. Any donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
