Leslie Orville Connally - Died on 11-12-13 at a Temple hospital. Services will be held on Friday 11-15-2013 at 10am at Dossman Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Childers and Bro. Bill Adams. Final resting place will be at the Central Texas Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Killeen, Texas. He was born July 9, 1929 in San Angelo, Texas to Leslie O. Connally and Kathleen Harris Connally. He attended several schools all over Texas such as Oak Cliff in 1st Grade, Corpus Christi, and graduated from Wichita Falls high school in 1947. Attended College at Howard Co. Junior College in Big Springs, Texas, Baylor in Waco, Texas and UTA in Arlington, Texas. Meet his wife Mary Helen Ogden Connally at the Walgreens in Waco, Texas and married in Waco on April 7, 1951 in the Chapel at Connally AFB where he was stationed at that time. He was a Instrument Flight instructor. They moved to Sacramento where he was stationed at Mather AFB until he left the service in July of 1952. He severed 4 years during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. When he got out of the service they moved to Waco, Dallas, Grand Prairie, Arlington, San Saba and ended in Belton, Texas in 1975. He worked for Texas Instruments from 1963 to 1996 when he retired. He was a Chemical Engineer. He was a deacon at Miller Heights Baptist Church and was a member there from 1977. He was a past president of the Tri-City Gem and Mineral Club of Temple, Texas; he loved to polish rock and Facet Stones to make beautiful Jewelry. Survived by his wife Mary Connally. Leslie Connally (son) and his wife Jeane Connally, Deborah Kay Connally-Abbott (daughter) and husband Charles Abbott, Larry Connally (son) and wife Cheri Connally. Sisters Carolyn Connally and Paula Miller. 14 grand children and 9 great grand children, 1 aunt and 1 uncle and numerous nieces and nephews.
