Alfred Claude Davis, 87, a resident of Jamestown died Saturday October 26, 2013, at the Hospice Home of High Point. Mr.

Davis was born April 14, 1926, in Charlotte, the son of Bernard and Elsie Daisy Stone Davis. He was a graduate of North Carolina State College (N.C. State University) and was a well-known architect in the Greensboro area. Mr. Davis was a member of the Jamestown Presbyterian Church where he served as a church Elder and a church Deacon. His hobbies included reading, painting as well as sketching.

H e was preceded in death by his wife Mary Pauline "Polly" Davis on July 2, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert George Davis and Tim Davis.

Surviving is his daughter, Deborah "Debby" Davis Foster and husband Ron of Jamestown; two sons, Alfred Daniel "Danny" Davis and wife Ann and George Michael Davis and wife Amy all of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Kevin Foster and wife Meridith, Brittney Foster, Matthew Davis and wife Natasha, Daniel Davis and two great grandchildren, Madison and Mackenzie Foster.

Funeral ser vices will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Jamestown Presbyterian Church conducted by Newton Cowan.

Entombment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Jamestown Presbyterian Church on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service time.
