Gilbert John Tetrault was born on Thursday, August 11, 1927 in Belcourt, North Dakota, the son of Stanislaus and Mary (Brunelle) Tetrault. He grew up in the Belcourt area and attended school there.
Gil served in the U.S. Navy from September 12, 1945 until September 12, 1949. After his discharge he returned to Belcourt. He was married to Betty Lenoir in Belcourt on June 30, 1952. They lived in Belcourt and in 1954 moved to Portland, Oregon. They had six children: Gaylen, Roger, Mark, Linda, Lori, and Lesslie. Gil and Betty later divorced.
Gil and Cletice J. Zoren were married in Clark County, Washingtin on June 9, 1984. They lived in Ocean Park, Washington. Cletice passed away on November 26, 2004.
There were no funeral services as per Gil's wishes. Cremation has occurred and as per his wishes his ashes were scattered at his favorite fishing spot on the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon.
Gil is survived by one son, Roger and three daughters: Linda, Lori and Lesslie; grandchildren, and relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by two sons, Gaylen and Mark; his wife, Cletice and his parents.
