Killed by a bomb while on patrol near Silverbridge age 30
Stephen was killed by a roadside bomb while he was on foot patrol in the countryside near Silverbridge, South Armagh, on the main Newry-Crossmaglen Road. Three other British soldiers were injured in the incident which occurred as they examined a parked car containing the bomb.
Stephen, aged 30, was from Newark in Nottinghamshire and had been in the British Army for 14 years. He was married with two children.
His name is included on the Armed Forces Memorial and on the Roll of Honour.
