BEULAH BEAHM HODGMAN
COLLEGE STATION, Texas/PARDEEVILLE -- Beulah Beahm Hodgman died peacefully on the morning of Nov. 14, 2013, at the home of her daughter and grandson in College Station, Texas.

Beulah, better known as "Boots," was born Nov. 12, 1925, to Herb and Susie Beahm in the town of Marcellon. She married C. Elwyn W. Hodgman, fondly called "Smiles," on April 21, 1945. They resided on their family farm in rural Pardeeville until 1984. As a farmer's wife, there wasn't much that Boots couldn't do. She worked in the fields alongside Elwyn and helped him with his many projects, planting, picking rocks, harvesting, building, logging, painting and whatever it took to run the farm. They were proud of the land.

Boots was known for her "can do" attitude and especially for her creative handicraft and sewing. Gifts were often thoughtfully created for the individual.

In 1984, she became the live-in nanny for her grandson. This was an easy decision since she took great pride in watching Chris grow, helping with school projects and attending his many school functions. Most of her free time was spent with family and she did visit Panama and England where her daughter and family were stationed.

Boots is survived by her daughter, Sandy and grandson, Christopher from College Station, Texas; sisters, Juanita Carlson from Richfield, Minn., Juene Kueffer from Portage, Doris Scott from Madison, and Carol (and her husband Johnnie Tortolano) from East Greenwich, R.I.; brother, Harley Beahm from Madison; sister-in-law, Mary Beahm from Montello; and many nieces and nephews living throughout the states.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Bruce Rodie; sisters, Verla (David) Price, Alma (Delphin) Carlson and Dorothy; brothers, Henry (Bernice), Norbert, Merlin and Bill Beahm; brothers-in-law, Roger Carlson, Sammy Scott and Alvin Kueffer; sisters-in-law, Peg and Liz Beahm.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday and the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Pardeeville. Pastor Julie will be presiding. Burial will be in Marcellon Cemetery. A graveside service will be open to friends and family. Immediately following the graveside service please join us for a catered lunch at the home of Linda and David Hughes.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the Rascals and Rockers Military Mailing Fund. Linda Hughes has been mailing packages to the military every month for over 11 years and our troops are most appreciative. To be able to continue this service would mean a lot to Boots. Thanks in advance to all of you.
