Bernard E. Wehrenberg (1921 - 2011)

Bernard Eugene Wehrenberg, 90, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on April 14, 1921, the son of William and Susanna Zimmerman Wehrenberg.

On Dec. 5, 1956, he married Jane E. Schaad Redman in Dubuque, Iowa.

Bernard was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the 332nd Engineer Service Regiment fighting in the Battle of The Bulge.

He was an entrepreneur, developing and owning various small businesses including service stations, car sales, dairy and tree farms, and Christmas tree stands.

He enjoyed staying active and worked until several weeks before his death.

He was a member of the Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie No. 270 and Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No. 75.

Bernard was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He will be greatly missed by his family, including three daughters, Barbara (Timothy) Jarvis, Green Bay, Betty(Mark) Sosalla, Fond du Lac, and Nancy (Gary) Nichols, Eden Prairie, Minn.; one stepson, Dr. Richard (Patricia) Redman, Ann Arbor, Mich. Bernard is further survived by seven grandchildren, James Jarvis, Michael Jarvis, and Jane Jarvis, Andrew (Renee) Redman, David (Glenda) Redman, Paul (Helen) Redman, and Luke (Andrea) Redman; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Nicholas, Benjamin, Christopher, Matthew and Claire.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane on Dec. 3, 1986; one son, Robert; and one grandson, James.

VISITATION: Friends may call on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 10:30 a.m., at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No. 75 will conduct military graveside services.
