GLASGOW — Fred Bedford Walden, 87, of Glasgow, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Glasgow, he was the son of the late Marvin and Martha Sprowls Walden and husband of the late Juanita Ballard Walden. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Porter Walden, a daughter, Shirley Walden Brayden and a great-grandson, Devin Wells. Mr. Walden was a farmer and attended Bethel Independent Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, Joe David Walden, of Glasgow; six grandchildren, Martha Neal and husband Eli, Loretta Harper, Kathy Holley and husband Harry, Barbara Stilts, Anthony Walden and wife Melisa and Eric Wells;14 great-grandchildren and a special great-grandson, Derek Stilts; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Walden, of Glasgow and two sisters, Mamie Walden Bartley and Eurie Gooden, both of Glasgow; daughter-in-law, Norma Walden and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Walden Family Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Monday.
