Mrs. Julia Markosky, 88, of 1344 S. 26th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday, August 5, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Harold Berryman and burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Markosky, nee Julia Leewandowski, was born November 18, 1895, at Athens, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Leewandowski. She married George Markosky on Feb. 16, 1920, at Athens, Wisconsin. The couple came to Manitowoc to reside after marriage and celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1970. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1974.

Survivors include a son, George Markosky Jr., of Toma, Wisconsin; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Leona and Stephen Vengrowski of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Miss Helen of Milwaukee, Miss Annabelle and Geraldine and Ray Walters of Manitowoc; a brother, Alex Leewandowski of Manitowoc; four sisters, Mrs. Maurice (Katherine) Gallagher, Cele Sullivan, Mrs. Helen Buresh and Mrs. Harold (Eleanore) Barbeau, all of Manitowoc; four grandchildren, Allen, Michael, Sandra, and Robert; four great grandchildren, Terry, Christopher, Michael, and Patricia. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Henry Leewandowski.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening where a prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m.
