Joseph L. Matczynski, 84, who resided in Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, died Saturday evening in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 am Tuesday in Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 am in St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Matczynski was born Aug. 20, 1894 in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Catherine Zagrodnik Matczynski. While residing in Manitowoc all his life, Mr. Matczysnki was a life long member of St. Mary Parish. He also attended St. Mary Parochial school. Mr. Matczynski was a Veteran of World War I, serving as a private first class with Company A of the 14th Battalion. Prior to his retirement in 1960 he was employed by the City of Manitowoc Street Department as a truck driver for 32 years.
Survivors include two brothers, Frank and Walter of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Blanch) Karl, Mrs. Frances Dietz and Mrs. Sophie Lachowicz of Manitowoc and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call in Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Monday evening where a prayer service will be held at 7 o'clock.
